Wanting to lose half a stone before Christmas I enlisted the help of Emma and Matt.

At 5’6” weighing 10’3 at the start I wasn’t very overweight to start with. I lost 13lbs in little over 30 days and never felt hungry. I learned to stop counting calories and it was the easiest “diet” I have ever been on.  Emma and Matt’s enthusiasm and encouragement made this so easy and they were always there for me with their support.  This for me (and my family) has become a lifelong plan.

The most difficult thing when one goes on any sort of plan like this is maintaining it afterwards, particularly if one is travelling or eating out a lot.

I worked with Matt for 9 weeks, lost 11 pounds and then went off to Canada for 3 ½ week where we visited lots of friends and relatives all who were wining and dining us.  When I came back, to my amazement, I found I had only gained 2 pounds, and within 5 days, I was back to the weight I was before I left.

So how did I manage this?  I think it was because when I got up in the morning, before going to breakfast, I did 15 minutes of one of the sets of exercises. Most often I did not have access to weights, nor even a large full water bottle, but 2 of the sets of exercises do not use weights.  These two sets plus one I made up from other exercises gave me enough variety. Matt is also quite right—15 minutes are do-able.  Any longer, and I probably would not have managed these.

Having been training with Matt for over 12 months I can really see a change, in not only my shape and weight but also by general outlook on life and ability to work hard.

I lost nearly 20lbs in 12 weeks and it would have been more if I hadn’t been thrown a curve ball!

I can’t believe I realised all of my aims in some shape or another in a short period of time.

I didn’t find the diet particularly difficult! The fact that I couldn’t feel my face in the first week was a little alarming but you do feel so ‘clean’ after the first month it was definately worth it.

I have lost weight, become physically stronger, revolutionised my thinking on nutrition so I am now eating things I never dreamt I could eat and still staying healthy and losing weight, real understanding about way my body works in relation to nutrition and exercise.

I have found working with Optimise U challenging at times, hard work but rewarding.  There have been varied diet suggestions, from a kick start detox, and plateau busters very helpful.  After the first stage of the Optimisation diet I found no need for PMT supplements as I had no symptoms!  It made me very aware of the effect on my body of eating in different ways.

I have found the training to be tiring and achy at times but a real sense of achievement.  I felt my muscles becoming stronger.  I can now do full press ups that I never dreamt I would be able to do. I decided to begin working out when I hit my late forty somethings because I had put on a few pounds more than I was happy with, and I was getting out of shape. But more importantly than this, I decided that I wanted to get the most out of the rest of my life and I realised that in order to do this, I needed to make an effort to get fit and stay healthy.

Joining a gym was the first step and I was committed to begin with, but I soon found that I was reaching a certain level and not going beyond this.

I asked Mat if he could help me and signed up with him for two sessions per week for an initial three months. The first few weeks were fairly tough but I soon found that I was managing to achieve much more than I had expected in such a short time.

Matt is a very good motivator and his sessions are never boring because he teaches a huge range of exercises and comes up with routines that are fun and designed to work every muscle.

I have now been with Matt for the past two years and he has helped me to achieve a good balance between my (sometimes excessive) social life and my commitment to keeping fit. I feel mentally sharper and have a lot more energy.

I have been reasonably fit all my life, running regularly etc.

However, having passed my 45th birthday I find that the running is not getting rid of the fat around the abdominal region and that’s one of thereasons I invested the servives of Optimise U.  I have been doing this for over a month now and I am seeing results.  It’s hard work, but when you begin to see dramatic changes in your shape it encourages you to continue.  Sessions have also made me fitter for my running too.  I would recoomend this to anyone who wants to cahnge theirn shape quickly and get fit at the same time.

Matt has been working with us in our office for nearly two years and has helped us to make a massive improvement in our health, fitness and weight in accordance with our personal goals.

For many years I have been slim but not toned and I didn’t want to endure another summer by the pool or beach feeling uncomfortable in my own skin.  With a ski holiday booked combined with a week of sunbathing I decided that as a busy mum I must find time for myself to achieve some goals that I am so keen to fulfil.

My goals are to raise my self esteem, energy levels so that I can cope better with the demands of parenting and tone.
