Fat that doesn’t make you fat!

Hey

this is just going to be a really short post.

Many people believe that all fat is bad for you. That eating fat will pile on the pounds of wobbly stuff around your belly.

A few years ago I worked in a health food store. What I found interesting was that in almost every section of the store there was some kind of remedy for for health complaints based on an oil. Oil and fat are actually the same thing.

These remedies included Cod liver oil for joints, Evening primrose oil and many others for regulating woman’s hormones, fish oils to improve brain function, and for heart health. Flax seed oil for male hormones. Many people use different types of oils and fats to improve skin, hair and nails, and you can’t walk down a supermarket isle without seeing a package claiming to be full of health boosting omega 3 oils.

I will be writing a more comprehensive report on fats soon, but for now I will keep this pretty simple.

In all my reading, I have time and again seen one man referenced to as one of the worlds leading experts on improving degenerative disorders using essential fats. This person is Dr Udo’s Erasmus. The author of Fats that heal, Fats that kill.

The main suggestion is that it is very important to maintain levels of Omega 3, 6 & 9 oils.  Of course like anything the source of these oils is very important.

The main product I recommend is Udo’s ultimate oil blend.  I have just started stocking this product along with Beyond greens (another fantastic product created by Dr Udo’s)

Some of the benefits you may notice from regular use of Udo’s oil are

Endurance:

  • Increased muscular endurance during strength training
  • Athletes also reported increased cardiovascular endurance and in a few cases, claimed they could run farther, faster and longer.

Strength & Power:

  • Athletes reported increased explosive power, speed and intensity
  • Increased Lean body mass and thermogenesis

Recovery:

  • Faster, more complete recovery between weightlifting sets and following workouts
  • Less joint pain and tenderness
  • Some athelets reported reduced inflammation and the accelarated healing of injuries

Flexibility:

  • Improved flexibility with increased range of motion

Energy:

  • Improved energy intensity and sustainability
